Duck Duck Goose!

Today Room A and B played Duck, Duck, Goose outside. For some of us it was the first time we have payed this game. Remembering to run the right way and where to sit down was tricky!

The Easter Story Cookies

Today we talked about the Easter Story and made special meringue cookies to help us.
We broke up some pecan nuts to remind us that Jesus was beaten. We smelt some vinegar like what was given to Jesus on the cross. We mixed the mixture and then put small mounds of it in the oven - like Jesus in the tomb. We are sad we have to leave it in the oven overnight - we taped the oven shut. We wonder what will happen tomorrow?

Crackle Nests

This morning we made some crackle nests. We put 3 eggs in the nest. Yum Yum an Easter treat!

Swimming

Today we had our first swimming lesson. It took us a long time to get changed and walk over to the pool. We should get faster as the week goes on! We loved the water.

Publishing

We published our writing today. These stories were about times that we had fun and we focused on Church this week for our writing.

Art on a Friday

On a Friday morning Room AB do Art. Last week we shredded paper and created the background for our fish bowls. This week we added some twisted paper seaweed, cut out some orange fish with a sparkly scale and added 3 shells. 

Poetry this week

This week for poetry we were reading a poem about friends. This afternoon we were busy colouring in our people and explaining who were our friends that we have chosen. It was great that they chose other people from the class, as well as, friends from church and other family members. Look out for these in our poetry books this weekend!

New People to Room AB

Today during assembly, Mr Bibby was very proud to be awarding certificates to the newest students of Room AB. Some have been here longer than others, however, this was their first Primary School assembly.

Big Buddies

Just before lunch our big buddies came over and taught us how to use the camera on the iPads. Room A is buddy class with Year 10 and Room B is buddies with Room J (Year 4/5). In the middle of our activity the fire alarm went off for a drill. Our buddies helped us to walk calmly over to the court by the swimming pool.
When we got back to class we shared our photos and our buddies stayed to sit with us at lunchtime.

Explain Everything

Today we learnt how to use an app on the iPads called Explain Everything. We drew a picture and then recorded ourselves talking about it. Tomorrow we are going to use the app to show our learning about the rocky shore.

Explore Time Monday

This morning we have enjoyed building cup towers, picking things up with tongs or chopsticks, playing with the cars and drawing pictures for our alphabet letters.
