Koru Collage

Today for Art and Poetry we made a Maori Koru. First we coloured the background with pastels and then we used little pieces of paper to glue on for the kore shape.

Malaysian Treats!

Today David's Mum helped us to make mar-chee - a rice dessert snack. David's little sister Natalie is a great helper. Yum yum!

Dutch Treats

Emilee's Oma came to talk to us about Holland. She showed us some clogs, a book written in Dutch and showed us a paper hat and boat. We were all given a Dutch windmill spicy biscuit.

Explore Time Thursday

Today we made shortbread for Scotland, paper boats and hats for Holland, African masks, and tried some Japanese origami. Cultural Week is great fun!

Learning Tree Celebration

We had a very special celebration assembly today. We were celebrating those children who can manage themselves well. Room AB celebrated with Jack, Isaac, Hannah and Gemma.

A very loud drum!

We were lucky to get Reuben's grandma come and talk to us about growing up in South Africa. She had a very loud drum and some great stories about growing up in a different country.

Xhosa Doorstops

We were very lucky to get Nathan's mum to come in to make Xhosa doorstops with us. They were very delicate and they look great! We even got to try some sausage from South Africa, the children loved it!

Cultural Parade

The Cultural Parade was a definite highlight. It was great to see all the children dressed up and walking proudly behind their represented flag. We marched around the Primary school area and recited our school creed together "We are Aidanfield Christian School." Check out the pictures.
